Irelandaupairs
help young people which would like to visit Ireland, learn about
its culture and improve their language proficiency.

Both families and Au Pairs are carefully screened and selected by confirming
references, police reports, medical certificates and interviewing them in person
    or by phone.

    What Is An Au Pair?
An Au Pair is typically a young
person who wants to improve her
    knowledge of a language in
exchange for looking after the host
    family’s children and partaking
in light housework (related to the
    children).

    Duties Of An Au Pair?
Normally she will work 6 hours a day,
    five   days a week, usually
    with weekends free.

In addition to the 30 hours a week the
Au Pair would baby-sit once or twice
a week at night if the parents want to
    go out.

    Salary and Accommodation

Au Pairs in Ireland get between
    €90 – €150 per week (depending
on the family, Au Pairs duties
and working hours). In addition to
that, the family needs to provide
their Au Pair with a private room
    and access to bathroom/shower,
    meals, leisure areas.

    Travel Expenses And
    Insurance
Typically, Au Pairs pay for their
    own travel arrangements.
    However, personal circumstances
    could be discussed.

    Au Pairs traveling to Ireland
should take out their own travel
    and maybe health insurance.
Being an EU member you can
    get an European Health Card,
which will cover you for basic
    health needs.

    Household Rules
    _____________________________________________________________________________________

Each household is different so Au Pairs (as part of the family) should be made aware of family rules upon
arrival (phone use, TV/Computer use, smoking, inviting friends to the house, meal times and other such
rules).  This will help to avoid any misunderstandings and make life easier on everyone.

Families should note that  Au Pairs are not trained childminders and therefore  it is at the Families
own discretion and risk if they leave the children in the sole care of an Au pair.
